Chocolate brownies

This healthy gluten-free chocolate brownies recipe is one of my favorite treats. I like to have it with coffee or tea in the morning. It’s a low-glycemic index dessert that won’t spike your blood sugar levels.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C. Line a 20 cm baking tray with parchment paper.

  2. On very low heat, combine coconut oil and cacao powder.

  3. Add eggs to the above and mix.

  4. Add sweetener and vanilla extract, then mix.

  5. Add coconut flour and salt; mix until well combined.

  6. Add nuts and chocolate chips; gently fold.

  7. Bake for 25-30 min, depending on your oven, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  8. Cool down and then cut into 8 portions.

  9. If you like a salty chocolate taste, you can sprinkle some sea salt when you take it out of the oven or top it with some shredded coconuts, just like I do.

Note

For paleo-friendly recipes: use 3/4 cup of coconut sugar instead of honey.

Just because it’s healthy doesn’t mean you can eat the whole thing!

Ingredient quality matters; however, portion and quantity matter just as much.
